History of St. Agnes
The parish traces its origins to 1892, when the first St. Agnes Catholic Church was built in Red Lodge. That original building was damaged in a 1896 windstorm and re-dedicated in 1897 after repairs. A rectory followed in 1902, and St. Agnes School opened in 1948. The present-day church building was constructed roughly in the early 2000s through substantial parishioner volunteer effort. For nearly a decade after that, the parish had no rectory, and its pastor commuted from neighboring towns. In July 2023, John and Martha Radick — summer residents of Red Lodge for over two decades — donated a 1,060-square-foot home on U.S. Hwy 212 to serve as the parish rectory, restoring an in-town residence for the priest.

Parish Life & Ministries
St. Agnes has an active lay leadership structure. The Pastoral Council and Finance Council each meet quarterly. Every registered parishioner is automatically a member of the Altar Society. The Council of Catholic Women offers additional fellowship and service opportunities, and a Prayer Chain circulates the names of those in need of prayer.
