Parish History
St. Agnes traces its beginnings to 1848, when the Bloomsdale Catholic community was founded as St. Philomena Catholic Church. The parish was later renamed St. Agnes. In July 2002 the remains from the historic St. Philomena Cemetery were relocated to St. Agnes Cemetery to make room for a new parish school building; some gravestones were damaged in the process.

St. Agnes Elementary Catholic School
The Community of St. Agnes Catholic Elementary School creates life-long learners who exemplify the teachings of Jesus Christ. The school offers smaller class sizes than public schools, with students encouraged to grow in faith as well as academics. Today it serves approximately 120 students from 2-year-old programs through Grade 8 at 30 St. Agnes Drive.

Mass & Sacrament Schedule
St. Agnes offers a full schedule of weekend and weekday Masses at its Bloomsdale church, with an additional Sunday Mass at its sister parish St. Lawrence in Lawrenceton. Reconciliation is heard before Saturday Vigil Mass, and Eucharistic Adoration is offered on the first Tuesday and first Wednesday of each month.

The combined parish is sometimes referred to as St. Agnes / St. Lawrence, and one Sunday Mass each weekend is celebrated at St. Lawrence to serve that congregation.
