Our History
The parish has been serving the Punxsutawney area for generations, with a legacy of faith, worship, and community service. It is noted for its long-standing commitment to nurturing faith, educating youth, and reaching out in charity. The parish celebrates its patron saints, Cosmas and Damian, whose lives are honored for their martyrdom and charitable service, and whose story is shared with parishioners as part of its spiritual heritage.
Ministries
The parish offers a wide array of ministries including Sacred Music, Saint Vincent DePaul Society, Usher, Prayer Request, Extraordinary Ministers of the Holy Eucharist, Funeral Luncheon Committee, Knights of Columbus, Lawn Festival Committee, Lector, Prayer Network, Parish Health Ministry, Catholic Daughters of America, Saint Claire Fraternity, Apostolate of Fatima – Blue Army, and Altar Server (Acolyte).
Sacraments
The parish offers all seven sacraments: Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist, Reconciliation, Anointing of the Sick, Holy Matrimony, and Ordination.
Faith Formation
The parish welcomes all youth to grow in faith with them. It offers Sensory Friendly Religious Education, Vacation Bible School, and the RCIA Program for those becoming Catholic.
