Confession is offered six days a week and Eucharistic Adoration is held on Tuesdays and Fridays, giving parishioners regular access to the sacraments. Shepherd of the Valley Catholic Church is a bilingual Roman Catholic parish in Central Point, Oregon, within the Archdiocese of Portland in Oregon. Our History & the New Church
The parish was founded in 1978 under Fr. Elwin Schwab and originally met at Mae Richardson Elementary School in Central Point. As the congregation grew, it moved to a converted fruit stand on Beebe Road, where it worshipped for roughly 35 years. By 2001 the building could no longer accommodate the parish. A building committee formed in 2011, a capital campaign began in 2012, and construction started late that year on a $3.5 million project. The 15,000-square-foot pre-engineered steel building, divided into five connected structures, was completed in September 2013 and consecrated by Archbishop Alexander Sample on October 13, 2013. The parish continues to grow and has since added a Parish Faith & Learning Center on the same campus.

The parish lists more than twenty active ministries, organized into formation, outreach, prayer, and service teams. Sacraments
The parish prepares Catholics for and celebrates all seven sacraments. First Communion, Confirmation, Baptism, and Marriage are prepared through dedicated English- and Spanish-language teams. Quinceañera coordination is provided for the Hispanic community. OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults) welcomes those seeking full initiation into the Catholic Church. Parish Vision & Plan 2024–2029
Pastor Fr. Silverino Kwebuza, AJ, has published a five-year Parish Vision & Plan that runs from 2024 through 2029. It calls every parishioner to participate in at least one ministry or small group, and identifies nine high-priority areas requiring full parish support: development of church premises, increased reverence and liturgical understanding at Mass with faithful attendance on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation, youth and young adult ministry, ongoing formation in Spanish and English for those already receiving First Communion, OCIA and sacramental preparation, ongoing spiritual exercises including parish missions, social-economic activities, strengthening the church choirs, and supporting senior and homebound parishioners.

Building, Campus & Construction
The parish campus at 600 Beebe Road was designed and built with a deliberate commitment to the Southern Oregon economy. The current church is a 15,000-square-foot pre-engineered steel structure from American Buildings Company, arranged as five connected sections of varying heights to create an intricate but welcoming design. It seats 590 in the main chapel and 60 in the day chapel, and includes a sacristy, storage areas, and meeting rooms. The parish has since added a new Parish Faith & Learning Center to serve ongoing formation needs.
