Why belong here
Shaver Lake Mission Chapel provides a rare opportunity for Catholics living in or visiting the Sierra mountain communities around Shaver Lake to attend Mass close to home rather than drive down the hill to Clovis or Fresno. As a mission of Divine Mercy Catholic Church, it is faithfully served each Saturday by a parish priest who travels up Tollhouse Road to celebrate the Eucharist for year-round residents, weekenders, and outdoor visitors enjoying the lake. Confessions are available before Mass, making it a convenient spiritual stop during the busy mountain season.

Ochoa of the Diocese of Fresno. Divine Mercy's geographic territory extends from Clovis east into the mountain communities of Sanger, Shaver Lake, and Prather, which is why the parish shepherds the Shaver Lake Mission Chapel.

Visiting Shaver Lake
The Shaver Lake area is a popular mountain destination in the Sierra Nevada at roughly 5,370 feet elevation. Originally built as a logging reservoir by C.B. Shaver, it is now known for year-round outdoor recreation including boating, fishing, hiking, and skiing at nearby China Peak. Catholics visiting the lake for weekends or vacations are invited to attend Saturday Mass at the chapel rather than make the drive down to Clovis or Fresno.
