Across all four campuses — Holy Redeemer, Holy Trinity, St. Mary, and St. Peter in Chains — there is a Spanish Mass, perpetual adoration at the St. Mary campus, faith formation for children and youth, and ministries led by the Little Workers of the Sacred Hearts (LIHM) religious sisters.

Holy Trinity is one of four worship campuses of St. John Paul II Scioto Catholic Parish, a 2024 merger of the Catholic parishes of Scioto County within the Diocese of Columbus. Located on Carey's Run Road in West Portsmouth, the campus retains its historic identity and continues to host the parish's Saturday Vigil Mass (4:00 p.m.), a Thursday evening Mass (5:30 p.m.), and a regular confession schedule. The parish describes itself as 'a living mosaic of all that has come before,' preserving the prayer, devotions, and traditions of Holy Trinity alongside the legacies of Holy Redeemer, St. Mary, St. Peter in Chains, Our Lady of Lourdes, Our Lady of Sorrows, and St. Monica.

History of the Parish
Catholic faith along the Scioto River grew gradually from the 19th century onward, sustained by traveling priests, immigrant families, and generations of believers who built modest churches and parish schools. The four parishes that survived into the 21st century — Holy Redeemer, Holy Trinity, St. Mary, and St. Peter in Chains — were joined in 2024 by the Diocese of Columbus into one unified parish, St. John Paul II Scioto Catholic Parish. The name reflects the late pope's call to unity and courage, and echoes his words, 'Do not be afraid.'

Ministries & Faith Formation
Beyond its sacramental life, the parish offers religious education, Catholic schools (Notre Dame Elementary and Notre Dame High School), parish outreach, sacred music, community life, wedding coordination, and perpetual adoration. The Little Workers of the Sacred Hearts (LIHM) sisters staff several of these ministries, and the parish encourages inquiries about vocations to the priesthood, diaconate, or religious life.

Sacraments & Sacramental Emergencies
The parish prepares parishioners for the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation (in conjunction with Catholic schools), Marriage, Anointing of the Sick, and Holy Orders. A dedicated Sacramental Emergency Line is staffed around the clock for those in imminent danger of death.
