Our History
Founded in 1941, Corpus Christi Parish held its first Mass at the Teatro Strand just one week after Pearl Harbor. The original rectory was built on Mango Manor property, which was once a mangrove swamp. After four years of fundraising and planning, a temporary church, school, and convent were completed in 1947 amid post-WWII material shortages. The permanent church was completed and dedicated in 1959. In the 1960s, Cuban refugees reshaped the parish’s outreach, leading to the creation of five missions to serve new communities and address transportation challenges. San Juan Bautista became the fifth mission in 2010 after being merged with the main parish.

The parish seeks to carry out the mission entrusted by Jesus Christ: to announce the Good News of the Kingdom of God. Members are called to share the joy of God’s forgiveness and love, bearing fruits of peace and hope. The parish aims to be a community of communities, fostering familial relationships and daily prayer, and practicing service to others as a way of life.
