About San Isidro Mission Chapel · Los Fuertes, Colorado
Sangre de Cristo Parish, located in San Luis, Colorado, is a historic Catholic community rooted in the faith of the Pobladores and generations of faithful priests and nuns who served Costilla County. Established in 1881, the parish has grown through the dedication of its clergy, including Father Samuel Garcia, who completed the San Luis church in 1894 and built mission churches at Fort Garland, San Pablo, and Los Fuertes. The parish’s mission is to offer peace, justice, and truth in a world of fear, through worship, service, and community. It operates under the Diocese of Pueblo and is led by Father Emmanuel Alao, Administrator, with Rebecca Romero as Parish Secretary/Bookkeeper.
