San Antonio Mission is a small Catholic mission church serving the village of Alamillo, New Mexico, on the west bank of the Rio Grande just south of San Acacia. Built in 1928 and dedicated to Saint Anthony of Padua, it remains an active mission of San Miguel Parish in Socorro and is part of the Archdiocese of Santa Fe. The church survived the devastating Rio Grande floods of 1929 and 1937 and continues to be sustained by local mayordomos and visiting clergy from San Miguel.

History of San Antonio Mission
The village of Alamillo was settled in June 1800 and took its name from a nearby Piro pueblo. After Rio Grande flooding in the late 19th century, the community resettled to its present location west of San Acacia around 1850. The current San Antonio Mission church was built in 1928 and dedicated to Saint Anthony of Padua. It withstood the catastrophic floods of 1929 and 1937, and for about ten years served the Catholic families of nearby San Acacia as well. It remains today an active mission of San Miguel Parish in Socorro.

San Miguel Parish Connection
San Antonio Mission is one of the rural missions served by San Miguel Parish in Socorro, which itself is one of the oldest mission churches in the United States. San Miguel and its missions share a pastor, deacons, parish staff, bulletin, and parish council, and they gather together for the annual fiestas of each mission church.

Sacraments
Baptisms, weddings, and other sacraments for mission families are coordinated through San Miguel Parish in Socorro. Baptisms are celebrated on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month, with a required Baptism class held on the 1st Thursday at 6:30 PM in the Guadalupe Chapel. Parents are asked to register at least two weeks before attending the class.

San Antonio Fiesta
The annual San Antonio Fiesta brings the community together around the feast of Saint Anthony of Padua (June 13). The Fiesta Mass is celebrated on the 2nd Saturday of June at 7:00 PM, traditionally held in conjunction with Luis López, and is one of the most important gatherings of the year for the mission's mayordomos and parishioners.
