Faith Formation & Sacramental Preparation
As part of the Queen of Peace Pastorate, Saints Simon and Jude participates in shared faith-formation programs for the children of the parish. The annual First Reconciliation and First Communion Retreat is held at Sts. Simon and Jude, preparing the children of the parish to receive these sacraments for the first time. First Communion itself is celebrated during the 10:30 AM Sunday Mass.

Outreach to the Homebound and Elderly
A distinctive ministry of Sts. Simon and Jude is its ongoing care for the elderly and homebound of the Flandreau area. On the third Friday of each quarter, Father Stevens and parishioners bring Mass to the residents of Riverview Health Care at 10:30 AM, and the parish also visits the Dell Rapids Nursing & Rehab and Orchard Hills care centers in rotation through the Queen of Peace Pastorate.
