Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church is a parish of the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City serving Kingfisher, Oklahoma and the surrounding rural communities of north-central Oklahoma. The parish shares pastoral ministry with its mission church, St. Rose of Lima in Watonga, and celebrates Mass in both English and Spanish. Alongside the parish church stands Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School, a PreK–8 faith-based school founded in 1910 that has been a continuous presence in Kingfisher for more than a century.

History of the Parish and School
The parish grew out of the first Catholic Church built in Kingfisher. Within a few years, the community's need for Catholic schooling led to the founding of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School in 1910, when classes were held in the rectory with three teachers and two Benedictine Sisters. A high school was added in 1911 and Bishop Meerschaert visited frequently to encourage students and Sisters; the high school closed in 1926 due to low enrollment. In 1929 a square, two-story red brick schoolhouse was built just off Highway 81 and still forms the heart of the PreK–8 campus today.

A Century of Service
During the war years of 1917–18 students were active in Red Cross work, making gun wipes, knitting socks and sweaters, and collecting and mending clothes for the needy. The same spirit of service continues today: students raise funds monthly for non-profit organizations and serve their neighbors through Meals on Wheels, Hot Dogs for the Homeless, hurricane and flood relief, deployed military members, and Sr. BJ's Pantry.

Faith Formation and Religious Education
Sunday School and Youth Group / Religion classes begin each September. All children in Kindergarten through 12th grade are encouraged to enroll in Religious Education. The cost is $25 per student to cover books and supplies, with a family discount available for three or more children. To enter the First Communion or Confirmation classes, a child must have attended Religious Education classes for at least one year prior (with no more than five absences), and a meeting with the DRE, the student, and at least one parent is required.

Parish Organizations
The parish hosts several lay organizations that bring parishioners together in service, fellowship, and faith. All ladies of the parish are automatically members of the Altar Society, and the parish also maintains an active Knights of Columbus council.

Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School
Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School is committed to nurturing spiritual growth and academic excellence for students, their families, and the community in keeping with the tradition of the Roman Catholic faith. Fully accredited in grades PreK–8 by the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA) and the Oklahoma State Department of Education, the school is housed in the historic 1929 red brick schoolhouse and continues the legacy begun in 1910.

The parish celebrates the seven sacraments of the Catholic Church. Families are encouraged to contact the parish office for preparation classes, registration, and scheduling for baptisms, weddings, First Communion, Confirmation, and Anointing of the Sick.
