Saint Vincent de Paul is a small Catholic mission church at 123 S. 9th Street in McLoud, Oklahoma, about 30 miles east of Oklahoma City. Founded in 1904 by Bohemian and Polish settlers and currently tended by the neighboring St. Teresa of Avila parish in Harrah, it has served Catholic ranching and farming families in eastern Pottawatomie County for more than a century. Weekly Mass is celebrated Saturday evenings and on Thursday mornings, with confessions heard before the vigil Mass and other sacramental needs met through the joint Harrah–McLoud parish staff.

Our Story: 120+ Years on the Oklahoma Prairie
Saint Vincent de Paul was born out of the early-1900s wave of Bohemian, Polish and other Eastern European Catholic settlers who homesteaded the prairies and farms of eastern Pottawatomie County. In 1900, Rev. Vincent Bednarek, a young priest from Chicago, was assigned to travel among these scattered Catholic families; by 1904 the community had purchased six lots on South 9th Street in McLoud and dedicated a small frame church under Bishop Theophile Meerschaert. The mission has endured fire, rebuilding, and the steady turnover of rural America for more than a century.
- 1900 — Rev. Vincent Bednarek arrives to serve immigrant Catholics
- 1904 — Original frame church dedicated (Nov. 16) by Bishop Theophile Meerschaert; $200 purchased six city lots
- 1954 (Jan. 6) — Fire destroys the church; Bishop Eugene J. McGuinness dedicates the rebuilt brick-and-block church eight months later
- 1979 — A house west of the church is acquired for a rectory
- 1990 — St. Augustine Center added (hall, kitchen, classrooms)
- 1992 — Mission is elevated to parish status
- 2004 — Centennial celebrated with Archbishop Eusebius Beltran

Because St. Vincent de Paul is a mission of St. Teresa of Avila in Harrah, both parishes are served by the same pastor and parish team. This arrangement gives the small McLoud mission access to a much wider range of ministry and formation resources than its size alone would allow. The parish office, located in Harrah, is the main point of contact for sacramental scheduling, safe-environment records, and the cemetery.

Sacraments
All sacramental preparation and scheduling is handled through the joint parish office in Harrah. Couples should contact the parish 6–8 months before a planned wedding; families preparing for infant baptism are asked to participate in a baptism-preparation process before the ceremony. OCIA (formerly RCIA) walks adults and older children through the Easter sacraments each year on Monday evenings from September through April.

Ministries & Parish Life
Parish ministries are shared with St. Teresa of Avila and meet primarily at St. Teresa's, with the active St. Vincent de Paul Society also working out of the McLoud church. The programs cover the full life of the parish: spiritual formation for adults, religious education for children, outreach to those in need, and fellowship for every age and stage.

Outreach: The Food Pantry & The St. Vincent de Paul Society
The parish's namesake ministry — the local Society of St. Vincent de Paul — operates an active food pantry that serves McLoud and the surrounding area. Open on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month in the early evening, the pantry is one of the most visible works of charity in the parish. Donations and volunteers are welcomed through the parish office, and the Society meets monthly at St. Teresa's in Harrah.

St. Vincent de Paul's historic brick church sits on South 9th Street in McLoud, about a half-mile west of OK-102 (Main Street). It is a small, welcoming building with the St. Augustine Center attached on the north end for gatherings and religious-education classes.
