Clergy & Pastoral Leadership
Because St. Theresa is a mission rather than a standalone parish, it does not have a resident pastor of its own; instead, it is paired with Transfiguration Catholic Church in Blythewood and shares pastoral leadership with that parish. From 2017 through 2026, the pastor of both communities was Rev. Msgr. James L. LeBlanc, a former attorney and law professor originally from Michigan who felt called to the priesthood after hearing Pope St. John Paul II preach at Williams-Brice Stadium in 1987. Following Msgr. LeBlanc's retirement announced in the Diocese of Charleston's June/July 2026 priest assignments, Rev. John Cosgrove, SDB (a Salesian), was named administrator of both Transfiguration Church in Blythewood and St. Teresa Church in Winnsboro, effective July 2026. Rev. Andrew J. Trapp served the parish as pastor before Msgr. LeBlanc.
