Saint Peter's Catholic Church on Capitol Hill is a historic, thriving parish in Washington, D.C., that welcomes a diverse community of Capitol Hill residents, congressional staffers, and visitors. Founded in 1820, it is the second-oldest Catholic parish in the city and has long served as a spiritual home near the U.S. Capitol. History
St. Peter's on Capitol Hill was founded in 1820, making it the second-oldest Catholic parish in Washington, D.C. The original church building was erected in 1889, destroyed by fire in 1940, and rebuilt.
