St. Paul Chaldean Catholic Church is a parish of the Chaldean Diocese of St. Thomas the Apostle serving the Chaldean Catholic community of Grand Blanc, Michigan, and surrounding Genesee County. The Chaldean Catholic Church is an Eastern Catholic Church in full communion with Rome, using the East Syriac liturgical tradition that traces back to the ancient Christian communities of Mesopotamia (modern Iraq). St. Paul offers the Chaldean-rite Mass in the Surath form — the vernacular East Syriac liturgy used in family and parish worship.

Parish History

Founded in 2014, St. Paul was established by the Chaldean Diocese of St. Thomas the Apostle to serve Chaldean Catholic families living in Grand Blanc and the greater Flint/Genesee County region. The parish joined a network of Chaldean parishes and mission communities across Michigan built up over decades by Chaldean Catholic immigrants from Iraq and the Middle East. As listed in the Chaldean Diocese's 2022 Annual Report, Rev. Muhannad Al Tawil served as pastor of the Grand Blanc parish. The diocese has subsequently announced that St. Paul no longer has a pastor in residence, with all pastoral services now cared for by Holy Martyrs Church, while the parish itself remains an active worship site.

Sacraments

Information about sacramental preparation — including marriage and annulments — is coordinated through the diocesan offices of the Chaldean Diocese of St. Thomas the Apostle.
