Parish History

St. Michael marked its 125th anniversary in September 2024, tracing its roots back to 1899 when Byzantine Catholic faithful in Dunmore organized their own parish community. For more than a century it has preserved the Ruthenian Byzantine liturgical tradition in northeastern Pennsylvania. The parish is one of a handful of Eastern Catholic parishes in the region under the Eparchy of Passaic.
