History

Founded in 1856, Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception is one of the first churches in America to be named 'Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception'. It has been continuously serving Edgefield since before the Civil War and is listed in the National Register as part of the Edgefield Historic District.
