St. Mary's Catholic Parish is a Passionist congregation in Fairfield, Alabama, devoted to proclaiming God's love through the Passion of Jesus Christ. The parish keeps alive the memory of Christ's Passion through commitment to family, community, ministries of the Word, and service to those who suffer. It welcomes all who find hope in the Cross and the Resurrection. St. Mary's has a long history as a mission-founded parish that grew into a vibrant, largely African-American Catholic community in western Birmingham.

History
St. Mary's was founded in 1942 as a mission of Holy Family Church in Ensley. A small frame church was dedicated in 1943, a school opened in 1945, and the present church building was dedicated in 1962. The school closed in 2013, and a new social hall was added in 2018.
