Our Parish Mission
St. Mark’s University Parish provides a welcoming faith community for students, families, and individuals that share a geographic, intellectual, or historic connection to the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF). We exist to encourage, inform, and support the faith journey of all who have come to UAF with a background in the Catholic tradition. St. Mark’s also provides reliable information for non-Catholics inquiring about our faith, and contributes to inter-faith discussion and ecumenical action.
Ministries & Services
Ministries include Altar Servers, Lectors, Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist, Music Ministry, Legion of Mary, Voices of Hope Prayer Group, Men’s Group, Women’s Group, Sacred Heart Book Club, and more. Services include Lenten food collection, Summer Oratory, Girls & Boys Camp, Popular Mission, and Feast & Faith.
Faith Formation & Outreach
Faith formation includes OCIA classes (TBA in Fall), sacramental preparation, and prayer groups. Outreach includes Sacred Heart Cathedral Food Boxes, ICC Soup Kitchen, and support for rural parishes.
