St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Parish is a multilingual Roman Catholic parish in Weston, Florida, belonging to the Archdiocese of Miami (Southwest Broward Deanery). Founded on July 1, 2001, it serves an estimated 5,294 registered families through weekend and weekday Masses offered in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. The parish occupies an approximately 20-acre permanent site at 2501 South Post Road, where a 1,100-capacity multipurpose worship building was dedicated in February 2014 after more than a decade as a 'rental community.' Under the leadership of its current pastor, Fr. Our Mission
St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Parish describes itself as 'the cornerstone of Weston's Catholic community … one Body, one Spirit, one family actively ministering to the spiritual needs of all as we journey together in the Name of Jesus Christ.' The parish council has identified five priorities for the coming five years: deepening stewardship of Time, Talent and Treasure; organizing ministries that reflect the self-giving spirit of the patroness, St. Katharine Drexel; developing Youth and Family ministries; establishing a solid Catholic identity in the City of Weston; and supporting the evangelization of the Church.

Parish History
Founded July 1, 2001 by the Archdiocese of Miami, the parish began with introductory meetings, a 14,000-household mailing, and its first Masses at Indian Trace Elementary School on September 16, 2001. After worshiping in a leased business-park space for a decade, the community moved to its own 18,000-sq-ft multipurpose church on a 20-acre site at 2501 South Post Road, dedicated by Archbishop Wenski on February 16, 2014. Successive pastors (Edwards, Pietraszko, Bello, Corces, Delgado, and now Ayubi) have shepherded the parish through growth from a handful of families to more than 5,200 registered households today.

Faith Formation & Religious Education
Children's Faith Formation (Catequesis) runs from 1st grade through Confirmation, with classes meeting weekly for 1 hour 15 minutes during the school year. The curriculum is conformed to the Catechism of the Catholic Church and approved by the USCCB. Sacramental preparation requires two consecutive years of formation: First Penance and First Holy Communion are received in 2nd grade (age 7+), and Confirmation in the teen years (age 14+). RCIA and Adult Formation
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) meets every Monday from September through Easter at 8:00 PM, welcoming unbaptized adults, baptized Christians preparing for full communion, and adult Catholics who have never received the Eucharist or been Confirmed. The parish also runs an ongoing Bible Study (Estudio Biblia) and a Compass small-group ministry, both of which parishioners may join at any time without prior experience.

Parish Life & Ministries
A wide range of lay-led groups meets on the parish grounds (currently in the 'portable' modular buildings on the campus, with a permanent parish hall on the master plan). The Knights of Columbus Council 14212 is a particularly active fraternal organization that has raised tens of thousands of dollars for the parish through events such as golf tournaments.

Sacraments & Becoming a Parishioner
Registered parishioners — defined as those who live within the parish boundaries or have registered because of regular Sunday-Mass attendance and consider St. Katharine Drexel their spiritual home — have the right to receive the sacraments (Baptism, Confirmation, Marriage) at the parish, support the church and the new building fund, and participate in the Archdiocese of Miami's Annual Campaign (ABCD). Building Campaign & Future School
The current 18,000-square-foot multipurpose worship building is the first phase of a larger master plan on the parish's nearly 20-acre site. Looking ahead, the parish is committed to building the first Catholic school in the City of Weston — a milestone project to be funded in part through a 'Help Us Build Our School' campaign offering symbolic giving levels from $25 (bricks) to $500 (school infrastructure). A standalone parish hall and a more permanent sanctuary are also planned in subsequent phases.
