History of the Parish
Chaldean Catholic families began settling in the Las Vegas valley in the early 1990s, but it was not until 2003 that a formal mission was established for them. In those first years, Msgr. Felix Shabi traveled up from San Diego once a month to celebrate the Chaldean liturgy for the small community at St. Ann Roman Catholic Church. In 2007 the Eparchy purchased a building on Meadows Lane, giving the parish a permanent home of its own. Fr. Andraws and Fr. Pouls shepherded the parish in succession until 2012, when Fr. Ray Sarkees arrived in August to become the first resident priest of the community. He was succeeded by Fr. Mazin Hanna, who was appointed pastor on July 10, 2019.
