History of St. Anthony Church
The parish's roots go back to 1859 and the New Almaden quicksilver miners. Three early Mine Hill churches burned or were torn down before the present Bertram Road church was built in 1899 by Señora Guadalupe Madero in thanksgiving for her son Antonio's safe return from the Spanish-American War. After being administered by St. Joseph, St. Patrick, and Holy Spirit parishes, St. Anthony became an independent parish in 1982, and its McKean Road church was dedicated in 1994.

Volunteering & Ministries
St. Anthony teaches that 'all parishioners are ministers,' and the parish runs a wide range of ministries covering liturgy, pastoral care, outreach, social life, and facilities. Liturgical ministers include lectors, Eucharistic ministers, altar servers, sacristans, greeters, and ushers, plus the Sunday choirs directed by Corinne Jarrett. Outreach is coordinated year-round through toiletry and food drives, shelter dinners, and seasonal giving projects.

Youth Faith Formation & Youth Ministry
Religious education at St. Anthony begins in first grade, with First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion typically celebrated in second grade. Confirmation preparation is open to teens in seventh grade and higher who have already received Baptism, Reconciliation, and the Eucharist. The parish also runs NOVA (middle school youth ministry, grades 6–8) and OASIS (high school youth ministry, grades 9–12), coordinated by Youth Minister Ana Fuentes.

Prayer & Pastoral Care
The Prayer & Care ministry at St. Anthony supports parishioners in times of illness, grief, and preparation for the end of life. Father Tad and the pastoral care team bring Holy Communion to the homebound, celebrate the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick, and assist families with funeral Masses and burial rites. The team also organizes the annual Mass of Consolation and parish blood drives.
