About Corpus Christi Parish

Corpus Christi Catholic Parish is a vibrant Roman Catholic community serving more than 2,500 households in Willimantic and Windham, Connecticut. Worship takes place across three historic church buildings: St. Joseph (99 Jackson St, Willimantic), St. Mary (46 Valley St, Willimantic), and Sagrado Corazón de Jesús (61 Club Rd, Windham). The parish describes itself as 'one family in Christ,' with a membership that reflects diverse ages, backgrounds, and cultures, united in faith and service.

Our Story

Formed in 2019 through the merger of three Windham-area parishes, Corpus Christi brings together communities dating back to 1856 and 1991. The most recent of these, Sagrado Corazón de Jesús, was founded in 1991 to serve the region's Hispanic Catholic faithful. The merged parish blends the traditions, ministries, and devotional life of all three predecessor parishes into one bilingual worshipping community.

Sagrado Corazón de Jesús — Spanish-Language Hub

Sagrado Corazón de Jesús is the heart of the parish's Spanish-language liturgical life. Masses celebrated here include the Saturday 5:30 PM vigil in Spanish, the Sunday 12:00 PM Mass in Spanish, and Monday and Thursday evening Masses in Spanish. The parish office line at this site also serves Hispanic parishioners directly.

Sacraments

Corpus Christi Parish prepares and celebrates the seven sacraments across its three worship sites. Pastoral Team and Staff

Corpus Christi is served by a bilingual pastoral team. Pastor Very Rev. Laurence LaPointe ('Fr. Larry') leads the parish and is well known to parishioners through his weekly bulletin messages. He is assisted by Parochial Vicar Rev. Michael Castiblanco, two deacons — Diácono Felipe Silva and Deacon Lawrence Goodwin — and pastoral assistants Sister Leidy Castillo, RODA, and Ms. Lorraine Gallup.

Saint Mary–Saint Joseph School

The parish-affiliated Saint Mary–Saint Joseph School has a long history in Willimantic but is currently in temporary hiatus, as noted in recent parish bulletins.
