Sacred Heart of Jesus Chinese Parish (耶穌聖心堂 / 聖心堂) is a Roman Catholic parish in Plano, Texas, serving the Chinese Catholic community of the Dallas–Fort Worth region. It belongs to the Diocese of Dallas and is one of the few parishes in North Texas dedicated primarily to Chinese-speaking faithful. The parish celebrates Mass in both English and Chinese (中文彌撒), runs a Chinese cultural school for youth, and supports a broad network of ministries including RCIA, Legion of Mary, Marriage Encounter, religious education, and outreach. Its current pastor is Rev. Vincent Lin (also written as Rev. Yu Ming Lin).

Our History
Sacred Heart of Jesus Chinese Parish began as five or six families gathering to study the Bible and pray. They petitioned the Diocese of Dallas in 1990, purchased an office building in Richardson in 1992, and by the end of 1993 had renovated it into a sanctuary and activity hall, guided by priests seconded from Taiwan. In 2000 the original space could no longer hold the growing congregation; after five years of planning and fundraising, a new multi-purpose building was blessed and inaugurated on January 15, 2006. About six months later, the community was elevated from a Mission to a canonically erected Parish.

Mass Hours & Schedule
The parish celebrates Mass in both English and Chinese every Sunday, with a generous weekly schedule of weekday Masses. Sunday mornings begin with the 9:30 AM English Mass, followed by the 11:00 AM Chinese Mass (中文彌撒). The parish also offers Eucharistic Adoration every Sunday afternoon from Noon to 3:00 PM after the Chinese Mass — a practice the parish actively invites visitors to share (明供聖體).

Parish Organization & Ministries
The parish runs a wide network of ministries and groups organized around liturgy, formation, family life, outreach, and parish operations. The Liturgy Committee coordinates readings, Eucharistic ministers, altar servers, music, and sanctuary décor, while the Choir Group leads sacred music. The Pastoral Advisory Council represents the parish to the pastor, and the Financial Advisory Council advises on parish finances and property improvements.

Faith Formation & Religious Education
The parish invests deeply in formation for every age group. The Religious Education of Children and Youth (REC) team transmits Catholic doctrine, Scripture, and Sacred Tradition to young parishioners and teaches them to love God and neighbor in daily life. The Adult Formation Team (AFT) deepens adult believers in faith, hope, and charity through Sunday School for Adults, Group Bible Sharing, Annual Retreats, and Religious Talks. The Rites of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) introduces non-baptized friends to Christ and walks them into full communion with the Catholic Church.

Family, Youth & Community Life
Sacred Heart nurtures family life through Marriage Encounter, which helps Sino-American couples experience God's love in their homes and runs an annual Marriage Encounter weekend plus family workshops. The Evergreen Association gathers the elders of the parish to support one another, preserve their health and happiness, and serve the needy among them. The Last Friday of every month is dedicated to the parish's Youth English Mass, providing a regular gathering point for the younger generation of the community.

Outreach & Charity
The parish's Outreach Program is the umbrella for its works of mercy, both welcoming newcomers and serving those in need. It coordinates the Welcome Angels Party and Adult Welcoming Party to greet new friends, organizes visits to the needy, recruits volunteers for the North Texas Food Bank, prepares Thanksgiving dinners for sick seniors and singles, runs the Christmas Children's Party, and operates the Angel Tree Project at Christmas. The Legion of Mary extends this outreach through evangelization, home visits, hospital visits to sick Catholics and friends, and care for distressed compatriots in the community.

Sacred Heart Chinese School
The Sacred Heart Chinese School is part of the parish family. Founded in 1995, shortly after the parish itself took shape, it exists to preserve and propagate traditional Chinese culture for the youth of the Dallas–Fort Worth region, supporting their intellectual, spiritual, and physical growth. The curriculum weaves language instruction with cultural activities including Confucius philosophy, ancient poems, moral stories, saints' stories, and the historical context of major festivals such as Lunar Chinese New Year, the Lantern Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, and Mid-Autumn Festival, paired with the parallel celebrations of Christmas and Thanksgiving.

The Social Communications Committee (SCC) is responsible for keeping the parish connected both internally and beyond its walls. Its responsibilities include publishing the bi-monthly parish newsletter 'Grapevine', maintaining the parish website, sharing activity photos, and posting news and advertisements.
