Our History
In 1897, Saint Patrick in Norwich opened a mission church in Norwichtown named Sacred Heart of Jesus, dedicated the following year and served by Saint Patrick for four years. In 1902, it became a full parish with a resident pastor, Father Christopher McCann. In 1923, Father Charles Brennan faced a serious fire on Easter Sunday. St. John Mission, dedicated June 17, 1894, became part of Sacred Heart Parish in 1960.
