Parish History

The parish's first home was in the Neuner addition of Frazee beginning in 1897. After outgrowing that building, parishioners broke ground for the present church on June 14, 1907 and laid its cornerstone on May 10, 1908. From 1900 to 1917, the Benedictine Fathers of St. John's Abbey supplied priests, beginning a rotation of diocesan and Benedictine clergy that still continues. Major renovations came in 1940, 1988, and most recently 2012, with the new addition dedicated by Bishop Michael Hoeppner on September 23, 2012. The original rectory was replaced by the current one in 2007.
