Parish History
Sacred Heart was founded in 1917 to serve the growing railroad and farming settlement of Crystal City, which had only been incorporated seven years earlier. The parish was originally under the Archdiocese of San Antonio. In 2000, when Pope John Paul II erected the Diocese of Laredo under Bishop James A. Tamayo, Sacred Heart — along with several other parishes in the surrounding counties — was transferred to the new diocese.

Sacramental Life
Sacred Heart prepares parishioners for the sacraments of Baptism, Matrimony, and Quinceañera with required formation and advance notice, and supports ongoing faith formation through its Religious Education program.
