Pastor History

Public diocesan and historical records identify a notable mid-twentieth-century pastor of Sacred Heart: Father Michael J. Lies, who served the parish and concurrently was the Wichita Diocesan Youth Director from 1945 to 1955. He worked alongside Father Weisenberg, S.J., in developing the Kansas State Sodality Union and statewide Catholic youth ministry.
