Roanoke College Catholic Campus Ministry (CCM) is the Catholic student ministry at Roanoke College, a Lutheran-affiliated (ELCA) liberal arts college in Salem, Virginia. It gathers students for Sunday Mass in Antrim Chapel, weekly Eucharistic Adoration, Reconciliation, Bible study, Rosary, retreats, and fellowship suppers, and is supported by the Catholic Diocese of Richmond. Chaplaincy is currently provided by Fr. Kyle O'Connor, who is also Administrator of neighboring Our Lady of Perpetual Help parish, while a lay CCM Coordinator (Constance Hull) and a student leadership team run day-to-day programming.

About Roanoke College Catholic Campus Ministry
Roanoke College Catholic Campus Ministry (CCM) is the official Catholic student ministry at Roanoke College in Salem, Virginia. Its mission, in its own words, is 'to encourage and inspire students to live out their faith fully and radically,' cultivating the virtues of faith, hope, and charity, and helping students live Christ-centered lives in and through the Catholic Church. CCM is supported by the Catholic Diocese of Richmond and staffed by a campus ministry coordinator, a chaplain priest, and student leaders.

Mass and Sacramental Schedule
Sunday Mass is the heart of CCM life. When classes are in session, Mass is celebrated at 5:00 p.m. on Sundays in Antrim Chapel; Reconciliation is offered immediately before Mass (and also during Thursday Adoration). The chapel is also the setting for weekly Eucharistic Adoration on Thursday evenings.

Chaplain and Staff
CCM is served by a priest chaplain and a lay coordinator. Fr. Kyle O'Connor serves as Sacramental Priest for CCM and is also Administrator of the nearby parish of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Salem. The CCM Coordinator is Constance Hull, who handles day-to-day ministry and is the primary email contact for students.

Fr. Kyle O'Connor — CCM Chaplain
Originally from the Roanoke area, Fr. Kyle grew up attending Our Lady of Nazareth and St. Andrew's. While studying at William & Mary, he felt the call to the priesthood and left college to enter seminary. He studied at the Pontifical North American College in Rome, earning a licentiate in Moral Theology, and was ordained to the priesthood in June 2019. His first assignment was Blessed Sacrament in Harrisonburg (near JMU), followed by four years as full-time chaplain to William & Mary's CCM and parochial vicar at St. Bede's in Williamsburg. He was assigned to Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Salem and Roanoke College CCM in July 2025. He enjoys board/card games, ping-pong in the Roanoke College game room, the outdoors, sports, and hiking, and is available for any student for pastoral, sacramental, or social needs.

Student Leadership
CCM is student-led in its day-to-day programming. The current (2026–27) leadership team includes student officers and chairs, supported by Fr. Kyle and the Coordinator. Nathan Korner serves as CCM Student President and sends out the weekly Wednesday email newsletter.

Weekly Programs and Devotions
Beyond Sunday Mass, CCM offers a weekly rhythm of prayer, study, and fellowship. Mondays are devoted to the Rosary and Bible study, Thursday evenings to Adoration and Confession, and Sundays include the monthly Candlelit Rosary and monthly Sunday Suppers. The community also gathers for special dinners (Easter, End-of-Year) and seasonal retreats.

Retreats and Conferences
CCM participates in two anchor retreats each year: a Fall Retreat held at Camp Bethel (Nov. 7–8, 2025) and a Lenten Retreat in the spring. Students also travel to the Diocese of Richmond's annual CCM Summit student retreat in Richmond (Feb. 20–21, 2026).

Liturgical Ministries and Music
CCM's own description invites students to serve as lectors, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, altar servers, musicians, and choir members. Student liturgical leadership is coordinated by the Liturgy Assistant/Chair, and student musicians and choir members enrich Sunday Mass in Antrim Chapel. The diocese's Annual Appeal has supported practical needs like hymnal books for Mass.

Diocesan Relationship and Support
CCM is a ministry of the Diocese of Richmond, which funds and supports campus ministry programs across Virginia through its Office for Evangelization and the Annual Appeal. The associated parish is Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Salem (founded 1947), whose Administrator (Fr. Kyle O'Connor) also serves as CCM chaplain. Practical items — including a new monstrance for campus Adoration — have been funded through the Annual Appeal in recent years.
