Parish Identity & History
Resurrection of Our Lord is a multicultural Roman Catholic parish in the Maryland City / Brock Bridge area of Laurel, MD, founded in 1968 from a mission of St. Lawrence Martyr in Jessup. The community began meeting in a Laurel movie theater and a local bingo hall in 1963 with about 100 members, many of them government employees at NSA headquarters or other Fort Meade agencies; the present church on Brock Bridge Road was built in 1970 as a multi-use facility, remodeled for permanent worship in 1991, and reoriented in a 2012 renovation. The parish turned 50 in 2013, marking the milestone with a Mass celebrated by Archbishop William E. Lori and a gala dinner.

Faith Formation for Children & Youth
Children's Faith Formation at Resurrection of Our Lord is built around the conviction that parents are the primary teachers of the faith and the parish exists to walk alongside them. The Family Faith Formation program pairs parent speakers with grade-level classes on Sunday mornings, then sends families home with monthly home lessons designed to spark faith conversations around the kitchen table.

Adult & Young Adult Faith Formation
Pastoral Associate Shaun Guevarra supports adult and young adult faith formation, oversees teen ministry and Confirmation preparation, and brings formation experience from Couples for Christ and its young-adult branch. He is currently studying Pope John Paul II's Theology of the Body and assists other parishes in the DC/Baltimore metro with ChristLife programs; he serves on the parish Pastoral Council and is an officer in the local Knights of Columbus council.

Hispanic Ministry
Resurrection of Our Lord has a vibrant Latino community drawn from approximately 23 countries. Spanish-language Mass is celebrated every Wednesday morning, every Saturday evening, and every Sunday at 12:30 PM, with Reconciliation offered in Spanish on Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons. The parish publishes its key content bilingually — bulletin, online giving, and sacramental information — and works through bilingual staff (Ester de Lopez) to serve both English- and Spanish-speaking families.

Since July 1, 2017, Resurrection of Our Lord has been yoked into a single Pastorate with St. Lawrence Martyr Parish in Hanover, MD, under one pastor, Rev. Thomas Dymowski, O.SS.T. This is the arrangement Archbishop William E. Lori has championed as a model for sustaining parish life and priestly ministry across the Archdiocese of Baltimore.
