Regina Health Center is a Catholic, faith-based skilled nursing and assisted living facility in Richfield, Ohio, whose chapel serves residents, staff, and visitors with daily Mass and the Rosary. History & Founding
Regina's roots reach back to 1851 and the arrival of the first Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine in Northeast Ohio. Decades later, after the Sisters built Mount St. Augustine as their Motherhouse in 1957, a 1980s study by the Diocese of Cleveland identified the growing need for collaborative long-term care for aging religious. The Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine led the response, raising more than $7.5 million to convert part of the Motherhouse into a nursing facility. Regina Health Center opened in 1993 as the first collaborative Catholic health-care facility of its kind in the United States, originally supported by 22 religious congregations.

The Holy Family Chapel & Spiritual Life
The Holy Family Chapel is the spiritual center of Regina Health Center, shared by the Sisters and the residents. Renovated in 2005 to update the liturgy and improve lighting, sound, and wheelchair-accessible seating, it hosts daily Mass, the daily Rosary, and Sacramental celebrations. Mass and the Rosary are also broadcast into resident rooms through an in-house network so that bed-bound residents can fully participate.

Pastoral Care Department
The Pastoral Care Department coordinates spiritual care for residents, families, and staff. Leadership & Staff
Regina Health Center is led by Executive Director Deacon Mark C. Yantek, LNHA, who has served in the role since 2013. Pastoral care is directed by Sister Donna Mikula, OSU. The board includes Father John Chlebo, the Diocese of Cleveland's delegate for senior priests, who is himself a priest residing in the community. Retired priests and deacons live at Regina and frequently concelebrate or assist at Mass.
