Queen of the Holy Rosary Parish is a personal (non-territorial) Catholic parish in Vienna, Ohio, established on July 1, 1997, by Bishop Thomas Tobin of the Diocese of Youngstown. It is served by priests of the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter (FSSP) and is the only parish in the six-county Diocese of Youngstown dedicated to offering the Traditional Latin (Tridentine) Mass every day of the year. Our History
The parish traces its origin to 1978, when Father John F. Roach, Pastor Emeritus of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, began gathering faithful who wished to keep the Latin Tridentine Mass. He broke ground for a chapel on May 30, 1979, and the first Mass was offered on Christmas Eve 1979. After Father Roach's death in 1987, the chapel was served by visiting priests and then by Father Paul Obenrader, before the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter was invited by Bishop James W. Malone to administer the chapel in December 1993. Following years of dialogue, Bishop Thomas Tobin formally erected Queen of the Holy Rosary as a personal parish of the Diocese of Youngstown on July 1, 1997, and FSSP priests have served it ever since—expanding facilities, religious education, and devotional life.

The parish is named for Our Lady, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary. Festivities and Fundraisers
The parish community gathers around two regular events on its annual calendar: the patronal feast in honor of Our Lady, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary on or near October 7, and the annual 400 Club fundraiser. All are invited to participate in the parish's weekly and monthly devotions throughout the year.

Clergy and Pastoral Leadership
The parish is currently served by two FSSP priests. Father John Fongemie was named Pastor on March 21, 2024 (having previously served as Parochial Administrator), and Father Joshua Houck serves as Parochial Vicar. Both belong to the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter, the religious institute of pontifical right that has administered the parish since December 16, 1993.
