Heritage & Notable Chaplains
Although Queen of Peace does not publish a parish history page, the parish's long service to the Air Force is reflected in the careers of chaplains it has hosted. One of its best-known Catholic chaplains was Father Richard Erikson, who was stationed at Queen of Peace during his active-duty Air Force years (1999–2005) and deployed from there to Balad, Iraq in 2004 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. After leaving active duty he became Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Boston and was later promoted to Brigadier General in the Air Force Reserve — a striking testament to the dual priestly-military vocation that defines ministry at this parish.
