Our History

Founded on August 14, 1936, by Father Donald E. Cunningham, the parish began with its first Mass on November 1, 1936, in Columbus School. A temporary chapel was built in the present gym until the church was constructed. Groundbreaking occurred in 1954, the cornerstone was laid in 1955, and the first Mass in the current church was celebrated on March 31, 1956. The church was dedicated on May 19, 1957. The sanctuary was remodeled and the roof repaired after a 1972 fire. In 2003, Fr. Dale Tupper became the 9th pastor; in 2015, Fr. Raul Silva (Peruvian missionary) became the 10th; and in 2025, Fr. James Starasinich (also missionary) became the 11th pastor.

Sacraments

The parish offers all seven sacraments of the Roman Catholic Church, including Baptism, First Holy Communion, Confirmation, Marriage, Confession, Anointing of the Sick, and Holy Orders. Preparation sessions are required for Baptism and First Communion, and Confirmation is offered as a two-year program for those aged 13 and older. OCIA is available for adults seeking initiation into the Church.
