Father Rob Johnson — Pastor
Fr. Rob Johnson was born and raised in Illiopolis, Illinois, and earned a Biology degree at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. After graduation he spent two years as a FOCUS (Fellowship of Catholic University Students) missionary in Lincoln, Nebraska, then six years studying at Mundelein Seminary near Chicago. He was ordained a priest of Jesus Christ for the Diocese of Springfield in Illinois on May 26, 2018. Along with serving as pastor at Mother of Perpetual Help since July 2020, he has served as chaplain at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) since July 2018 and as the regional vocation director for the Alton Deanery.

Faith Formation & Religious Education
The parish is the center of faith formation for Catholics — child or adult — on their journey toward Christ and a life of discipleship. MPH's formation programs include a Parish School of Religion (PSR) for K–8 students, RCIA/RCIC for adults and children, a Teen Youth Group for ages 13–18, and on-going adult formation through FOCUS Bible Studies, FOCUS Discipleship, and COR Small Groups.

Sacraments & Rites
Mother of Perpetual Help prepares parishioners for and celebrates all seven sacraments of the Catholic Church. The parish works in cooperation with St. John Neumann Catholic School and its own PSR program to prepare children, and a married couple in the parish facilitates the Baptismal Preparation Session required by Canon Law. The parish also coordinates funeral planning with funeral homes and, at a family's request, provides a bereavement luncheon through St. Anne's Altar Society.

Parish Organizations & Ministries
MPH runs an extensive network of parish organizations and ministries that let parishioners plug in through prayer, service, or fellowship. From fraternal organizations and women's groups to right-to-life outreach and hospitality teams, the parish encourages parishioners to contact the office to join. The St. Anne's Altar Society and Men's Booster Club host signature annual events such as the Cookie Sale, Palm Sunday Bake Sale, Chicken Dinner, Santa Breakfast, and Easter Egg Hunt.

Liturgical & Prayer Life
Prayer and the liturgy sit at the center of life at MPH. The parish maintains a robust schedule of weekday and Sunday Masses, weekly Confession, a Tuesday Holy Hour, and a Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration Chapel open 24/7. Lay liturgical roles — lectors, extraordinary ministers, altar servers, ushers, cantors, and choir members — are filled by parishioners and coordinated through the Music Ministry and parish office.

MPH's outreach ministries include the pro-life MPH for Life group (which holds prayer services, prays at the local abortion clinic, and supports the local pregnancy center), the S.O.S. Soup Kitchen in Collinsville, the parish meal train program The Little Ways (serving parishioners after the birth of a child or injury), and Homebound Ministers who bring Holy Communion to the sick and homebound at home, in the hospital, or in retirement homes.
