Our Mother of Mercy is a historic Catholic parish in the Pear Orchard neighborhood of Beaumont, Texas, founded in 1926 as a mission church for area faithful. Today it serves roughly 960 families under the Diocese of Beaumont and is recognized by the USCCB as a parish with a strong Black Catholic presence. The parish celebrates the Eucharist through weekend and weekday Masses, offers Eucharistic adoration and confession, and live-streams the 10:00 AM Sunday Mass on Facebook and YouTube. Its ministries span liturgical service, outreach, fellowship, and youth formation, rooted in a close-knit, multigenerational community.

History and Heritage

Our Mother of Mercy began as a mission in 1926 to serve Catholic families in Beaumont's Pear Orchard area. A church was built on Broussard Street, a school opened in 1927, and the mission became a parish with its first resident pastor in 1937. The parish has since relocated to 3390 Sarah Street and continues to serve the Beaumont community under the Diocese of Beaumont.

Worship and Sacraments
