About All Saints Parish and Our Lady Queen of Peace
All Saints Parish, established on July 1, 2009, is a cluster of seven Roman Catholic churches in the midcoast area of Maine — formerly six parishes with one mission. The cluster was shaped by 'Telling Anew the Story of Jesus Christ,' written in 2005 by a task force named by Bishop Malone, which set the stage for these communities to plan a new future together. Our Lady Queen of Peace in Boothbay Harbor is one of those seven worship sites, listed alongside St. Ambrose (Richmond), St. Charles Borromeo (Brunswick), St. John the Baptist (Brunswick), St. John's Catholic School Pre K-8 (Brunswick), St. Katharine Drexel Summer Chapel (Harpswell), St. Mary's (Bath), and St. Patrick's (Newcastle). The parish mission statement reads: 'All Saints Parish is a Roman Catholic faith community on the coast of Maine. Our common mission is to become the saints of today as disciples, evangelists, and stewards of Jesus Christ. We are empowered by the Holy Spirit, formed by His Word, and nourished by the Eucharist. We believe and we share.'

History of Our Lady Queen of Peace
The earliest Catholics on the Boothbay Peninsula left no surviving record; it was a strongly Protestant enclave where the land was unforgiving but the ocean was plentiful. Catholics settled on the less fashionable eastern side of Boothbay Harbor — home to 'pogey factories,' laborers, and seasonal artists' colonies — and Mass was first celebrated in local halls reported in The Boothbay Register (publishing since 1876), including the Knights of Pythias Opera House, which still stands as The Opera House at Boothbay Harbor. The present church was dedicated in 1926 and from the start its congregation was a mix of immigrants, artists, servants, fishermen, merchants, and builders — a blend of locals and 'those from away' that continues today. In 2009, Our Lady Queen of Peace became one of seven churches in All Saints Parish, and parish leadership commissioned a written history of the church using earlier research by Ed Donohoe as a guide, which now lives on the All Saints Parish website.

Architecture and Setting
Inspired by the surrounding sea, the interior of Our Lady Queen of Peace takes the shape of an inverted ship's hull, a deliberate architectural symbol of protection. The church's prominent waterside location near Boothbay Harbor gives it a landmark view of the harbor and serves as a beacon for sailors, fishermen, and the surrounding community. Stained-glass windows in the sanctuary and chapel remember the early families who nurtured Catholic presence on the Boothbay Peninsula.

Faith Formation
All Saints Parish offers many opportunities for faith formation and spiritual growth, from children's sessions and youth/teen ministries to adult programs, on the understanding that learning about and growing in our faith is a life-long discovery. Faith Formation programming is available to all parishioners, as well as those seeking membership in the Catholic Church. Programs include adult Bible study, Faith Formation for youth from pre-school through high school, Children's Liturgy of the Word, the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults, and Catholics Returning Home. Volunteers are welcome as catechists, adult-education seminar leaders, sacramental-preparation teachers, and OCIA sponsors. At Our Lady Queen of Peace, Pre-K through Grade 5 faith formation is coordinated by Amy Ford (725-2624).

Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist
Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist serve at Mass and bring the Eucharist to the homebound, the sick, and those in skilled-nursing or senior care facilities — a ministry that has been especially meaningful during the pandemic. Sacraments
All Saints Parish prepares parishioners for the sacraments of Christian initiation and life. Confirmation preparation, First Communion, and OCIA are all coordinated through the parish's Faith Formation and sacrament pages, with Children's Faith Formation leading children and OCIA welcoming adults and children into full initiation. The parish also coordinates Marriage Preparation, and Extraordinary Ministers bring Communion to the sick and homebound.
