Parish History & Founding

Our Lady of the Valley was established in 2000 to serve the growing Catholic population of Pahrump, a community roughly an hour west of Las Vegas. The current parish church building was nearing completion in mid-2005 when Father Tony Hughes — a British-born convert who had previously been a Methodist minister and had led a $2.5 million Millennium Restoration at St. John's Cathedral in Portsmouth, England — was appointed Administrator. Father Henry Salditos later served as pastor and is credited with naming the parish's new multi-purpose center 'Regina Caeli' (Queen of Heaven). On June 9, 2025, Archbishop George Leo Thomas of the Archdiocese of Las Vegas presided over the groundbreaking of Regina Caeli alongside Fr. Bruno Mauricci and Fr. Salditos.
