Why belong here
Our Lady of the Holy Rosary is one of the most visibly bilingual Catholic parishes in the San Fernando Valley, with virtually every Mass offered in Spanish and a Saturday-evening English Mass and Sunday-morning English Mass, plus bilingual daily Masses Wednesday through Friday. It is staffed by the Scalabrinians, a congregation dedicated to migrants and refugees, so immigrants and families looking for a parish that walks with them in their language and culture will feel especially at home. With an adjoining parish school that has educated Sun Valley children since 1950, a sister mission (Our Lady of Zapopan) in North Hollywood, regular devotions like the Rosary, weekly Thursday Eucharistic Adoration, Lenten Penitential Services, the annual Fiesta Patronal, and active participation in the archdiocesan Together in Mission appeal, the parish offers both a deep sacramental life and a strong sense of community outreach.

History
Catholic life in Sun Valley predates the formal parish: the area, then called Roscoe, was served as a Catholic mission for some years before Our Lady of the Holy Rosary was formally established as a parish in 1937. The adjoining parish school opened on September 29, 1950, and a 1948 Valley Times photograph shows the school hall under construction with the caption "Roscoe Holy Rosary School Hall." The Scalabrinians took pastoral charge of the parish and continue to staff it, in keeping with their founder's charism of accompanying migrants. In 2016, the church was designated an official Jubilee Church during the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy proclaimed by Pope Francis.
