Our Lady of the Holy Rosary is a Catholic parish in Hahnville, Louisiana, in the Archdiocese of New Orleans, with deep roots in the River Parishes. Founded in 1877 by Rev. G. Jobard as a small-town mission chapel in Taft, the parish once served the entire St. Charles Civil Parish before successive parishes were carved from it. The community famously moved the church multiple times — and ultimately to Hahnville itself — to escape the relentless erosion of the Mississippi River. Today the parish is distinguished by its prominent celebration of the Traditional Latin Mass alongside the Ordinary Form, its long-standing choirs, its Parish School of Religion, and an active cemetery that still sits near the original Taft site.

History of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary
Founded in 1877 as a mission chapel in Taft, the parish once served both banks of the Mississippi and the whole of St. Charles Civil Parish. Sixteen priests have served since its founding, and the building itself was moved multiple times before being relocated to Hahnville under Father Schorr in 1963–64.

Traditional Latin Mass
Our Lady of the Holy Rosary is one of the parishes in the Archdiocese of New Orleans that has received permission from Archbishop Aymond to continue offering the Traditional Latin Mass (TLM) following Pope Francis's 2021 motu proprio Traditionis custodes. The schedule is structured around Low Masses on weekdays and High Masses on Sundays and First Saturdays.

Faith Formation & Religious Education
The Parish School of Religion (PSR) provides faith formation for Catholic students in grades PreK-3 through 12 who do not attend a Catholic school. The program uses the Apostolate for Family Consecration curriculum, which is approved by the Archdiocese and the USCCB, and is meant to aid — not substitute for — parental responsibility in forming children in the Faith.

Liturgical music at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary is directed by Mr. Jared Croal, who serves as Director of Sacred Music. The parish maintains two choirs: a men's schola cantorum and a girls' choir.
