Parish History
The parish traces its origin to 1850, when Catholic communities of Irish and German railroad workers were forming in Allegany County. Through more than 175 years, Our Lady of the Angels has been served by a succession of priests. Rev. Dennis Mancuso served as pastor from 2007 until the Diocese of Buffalo's Road to Renewal restructuring, when Rev. F. Patrick Melfi briefly served as Temporary Administrator before Rev. John J. Cullen was installed as pastor of the tri-parish family on February 15, 2023.

Rev. John J. Cullen currently serves as pastor of the three-parish Northwestern Allegany Catholic family, appointed by Bishop Michael W. Fisher for a six-year term beginning February 15, 2023. Parish Ministries & Outreach
Our Lady of the Angels and the Northwestern Allegany Catholic family support a range of ministries that bring the tri-parish community together and reach beyond it. The Prayer Shawl ministry offers handmade shawls to those in need of prayer and comfort, with contacts listed at each worship site. The Craft Club meets to tie blankets that are donated to Genesis House. Parish life also includes Donut Sundays in Belfast, Coffee & Donut Sundays in Cuba, parish potluck dinners, and other social gatherings.
