About Our Lady of Perpetual Help
Our Lady of Perpetual Help is a Roman Catholic parish in Sublette, Illinois, within the Diocese of Rockford. The parish takes its name from the Blessed Virgin Mary under the title of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, a devotion rooted in a 15th-century Cretan Byzantine icon. The historic church building has been a part of the Sublette community since 1905 and remains a recognizable landmark in this small rural village in Lee County.
History of the Parish
The church building has stood in Sublette since 1905, and the parish was formally organized as a registered church entity with its federal ruling year recorded as 1946. In recent years the parish undertook a major roof and steeple restoration; Boss Roofing-Siding Experts of Rock Falls, IL re-roofed the approximately 10,000-square-foot, 21/12-pitch main roof and the 1,500-square-foot 68/12-pitch steeple with GAF Timberline HDZ shingles in Pewter Gray, work that earned a Gold Award from the Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association's 2024 Excellence in Asphalt Roofing Awards.

Rev. Randy Fronek is the pastor of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Sublette, St. Mary of the Assumption in West Brooklyn, and St. Patrick Church in Maytown. He is a frequent writer and communicator; many of his parish bulletins, homiletic reflections, and announcements are signed 'Yours on the Path — Fr. Randy.' His writings emphasize Eucharistic devotion, catechesis, and the parish's participation in the National Eucharistic Revival.

Faith Formation — CCD & RCIA
The parish runs a CCD (Confraternity of Christian Doctrine) religious education program for the young and an RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) program for adults, both serving the tri-parish family of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, St. Mary's, and St. Patrick's.
