Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish (OLPH) is a Roman Catholic parish in the Diocese of Saginaw serving the rural Thumb region of Michigan. Formed on July 1, 2013 by Bishop Joseph Cistone through the merger of St. Roch (Caseville), St. Francis Borgia (Pigeon), and St. Felix of Valois (Pinnebog), the parish is pastored by Fr. George I. Amos and uses St. Roch Church as its parish church, with St. Francis Borgia as an additional worship site. The parish draws a mix of year-round residents and summer visitors to the Caseville area along Saginaw Bay, and offers daily and weekend Mass, the sacraments, faith formation for children and adults, and a wide range of lay ministries.

OLPH is a small, welcoming rural parish where Catholics from Caseville, Pigeon, and the surrounding Thumb-area communities worship together across three historic church sites. Weekday and Sunday Mass are celebrated in English, with First Saturday and First Friday Adoration and Reconciliation, a Rosary prayed before every Mass in May and October, and a midweek Bible Study at St. Francis Borgia. There are hands-on ways to get involved for every talent — lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, altar servers, sacristans, ushers, musicians, cantors, catechists, money counters, and art & environment decorators — alongside family faith formation, sacramental preparation, and OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults) for adults joining the Church.

Parish History & Identity
Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish was canonically erected on July 1, 2013 by Bishop Joseph Cistone of the Diocese of Saginaw through the merger of three long-standing Huron County parishes: St. Roch in Caseville, St. Francis Borgia in Pigeon, and St. Felix of Valois in Pinnebog. St. Roch was designated as the parish church; St. Francis Borgia as an additional worship site; and St. Felix as a site reserved for occasional use (weddings, funerals, and special occasions for previous parishioners). The parish belongs to Vicariate 1 of the Diocese of Saginaw and is served by Fr. George I. Amos as Parochial Administrator.

History of St. Roch Church
Catholic life in Caseville stretches back to the early 1870s, when Fr. Cornelius Roche of Port Austin organized local Catholics as one of his missions. The first church was a small frame building later moved into town (today the Shore Winds Gift Shop). A second church — the former Presbyterian building on Ash Street — was acquired in 1934 under Fr. August Zylla. In 1955 Bishop Stephen Woznicki raised St. Roch from mission status to parish and appointed Fr. Robert G. Navarre as its first resident pastor. The present church, designed by Bay City architect Joseph Goddeyne, was dedicated in 1956.

History of St. Francis Borgia Church (Pigeon)
St. Francis Borgia in Pigeon serves as the second worship site of OLPH. As of early 2026 all Masses are being celebrated at St. Roch while St. Francis Borgia undergoes renovations and painting.

History of St. Felix of Valois Church (Pinnebog)
Founded in 1873 by French-Canadian, Irish, and German Catholic settlers in the Pinnebog area of Meade Township, St. Felix of Valois was established as an independent parish on July 23, 1899 by Bishop John S. Foley and dedicated on May 8, 1902. The 1960s renovation under Fr. Joseph Miller added new sanctuary furnishings, doors, carpeting, a baptismal font, and a 474-pipe electric organ (later moved to St. Roch). Following the 2013 merger, St. Felix became a site for occasional use; due to mold and structural deterioration it has not been in use since 2024.

All Masses and most sacraments are currently celebrated at St. Roch Church in Caseville while St. Francis Borgia undergoes renovations. The parish posts weekend, weekday, Holy Day, and seasonal Mass times in the bulletin and on the website.
