Parish History

Catholic presence in Hillsboro goes back nearly a century. The original Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church building was constructed of brick in 1929 on Corsicana Street and is recorded in the National Register of Historic Places inventory for the city's Residential Historic District. That building has since been converted to a residence, while the present-day parish continues to minister to Hillsboro and surrounding Hill County from its site on Crestridge Drive.
