About Our Lady of Lavang · Albuquerque, New Mexico
Our Lady of Lavang Parish in Albuquerque, New Mexico, is the only Vietnamese Catholic parish in the state and one of the first five Vietnamese parishes authorized in the United States. Founded in 1984, it serves a community of Vietnamese Catholics who value worship in their native language and cultural traditions. The parish offers Mass, sacraments, and ministries in English and Vietnamese, with a strong emphasis on faith formation and community support.

History of the Lavang Parish
The parish was established in 1984 to serve Vietnamese Catholics in New Mexico, who initially gathered at the Perpetual Help Chapel for simultaneous translation services. By 1976, they began attending Assumption Church, where Father John Rebold celebrated special Vietnamese-language Masses. The parish was officially established in 1984 and now serves approximately 250 families.
Ministries
The parish offers a range of ministries including Religious Education & Youth Ministry, VIRTUS training, sacrament policies, and the Lavang Rose Garden. There is also a Reflection Suy Niệm program and TNTT (Youth Ministry).

Sacraments

Mass & Prayer Times
Mass is celebrated on weekends and weekdays. Weekend Masses are at 6:00 PM Saturday Vigil and 9:00 AM Sunday. Weekday Masses are at 8:30 AM Monday through Friday. Adoration is held Friday at 6:00 PM. Confession is available Saturday 5:30–6:00 PM and Sunday 8:30–9:00 AM.
