Our Lady of Hope Parish is a Roman Catholic parish in Everett, Washington, in the Archdiocese of Seattle. Formed on July 1, 2022, from the merger of the historic Immaculate Conception Parish and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, the unified community carries forward the legacy of Catholic faith in north Everett that dates to 1891. The parish operates its main church at 2501 Hoyt Avenue and a chapel at 2617 Cedar Street, with a Catholic school (preschool through middle school) on the Hoyt Avenue campus and a Hispanic ministry offering Spanish-language Masses throughout the week. Its mission is 'to encounter, experience, and share the transformative love of Jesus Christ,' and it currently serves 1,556 registered households with daily Mass, extensive Eucharistic Adoration, sacramental preparation, and outreach to the surrounding community — including the St. Anne Mission at Tulalip.

The parish welcomes families through its preschool-through-middle-school Our Lady of Hope School, prepares adults through the OCIA (RCIA) process for full initiation into the Catholic Church, and runs ministries in discipleship, music, Hispanic ministry, and liturgical coordination. History & Formation
Our Lady of Hope Parish was created on July 1, 2022 from the merger of Immaculate Conception Parish and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish — two communities that had worshipped less than a mile apart in north Everett since 1891 and 1904 respectively. The founding parishes traced their origins to the dirt-road era of Everett, when Broadway became too muddy to cross in the wet Pacific Northwest weather and Catholics built their own churches on whichever side of the road they lived. Our Lady of Perpetual Help's 1925 brick church on Cedar Street — still containing the original altar and pipe organ — became Our Lady of Hope Chapel, while the 1967-built Immaculate Conception church on Hoyt Avenue became the new parish's main worship space. Archbishop Paul D. Etienne formally decreed the merger on May 2, 2022 as the culmination of a multi-year Partners in the Gospel planning process that included listening sessions with parishioners and school families. The unified parish took the Marian title Our Lady of Hope, invoking the Blessed Virgin Mary's apparition at Pontmain, France in 1871.

Leadership, Clergy & Staff
The pastor of Our Lady of Hope is Very Rev. Joseph F. Altenhofen, who served as the shared pastor of the two predecessor parishes before being named pastor of the merged community. He is assisted by a parochial vicar, Rev. Juan Carlos Rivera Zelaya, and two deacons. The lay staff includes a Coordinator of Hispanic Ministry (Rocio Constaneda-Lopez), a Pastoral Coordinator for Music (Shellie French), a Pastoral Assistant for Discipleship (Yvette Herrera), a Bookkeeper (Karla Alvarado), and a Receptionist (Stephanie Bowsher).

Hispanic Ministry / Ministerio Hispano
Hispanic Ministry is a major dimension of parish life at Our Lady of Hope, with Spanish-language Mass celebrated every Sunday at 1:00 PM and Spanish weeknight Masses Tuesday through Friday at 7:00 PM. The parish also hosts a Spanish Prayer Group on Friday evenings, a Spanish Cenacle Prayer Group, and sacramental preparation in Spanish. A Coordinator of Hispanic Ministry (Rocio Constaneda-Lopez) leads this outreach.

Our Lady of Hope School
Our Lady of Hope School is the parish school serving preschool through middle-school grades on the Hoyt Avenue campus. Originally formed from the combined school of the two predecessor parishes, the school was renamed Our Lady of Hope School when the parishes merged in 2022. The school markets itself on the values of 'faith, intellect, and character' — kindness, respect, teamwork, creativity, curiosity, service, responsibility, and leadership — and is integrated into parish worship and sacramental life.

Becoming Catholic (OCIA / RCIA)
Adults seeking full initiation into the Catholic Church are welcomed through the OCIA process (formerly RCIA). St. Anne Mission, Tulalip
St. Anne Mission at Tulalip is attached to Our Lady of Hope Parish as a mission site serving the Tulalip area. Confessions are heard on Saturday at 4:30 PM and the Saturday Vigil Mass is celebrated at 5:30 PM in English (with Spanish ministry coordinated through the parent parish).
