Our Lady of Guadalupe is a Roman Catholic parish in eastern Sioux Falls, South Dakota, established in 1996 as a personal parish dedicated to serving the Hispanic Catholic community of the area. The parish is part of the Diocese of Sioux Falls and is currently grouped with St. Lambert and St. Therese under the St. John the Baptist Pastorate. Its weekend Masses are celebrated in Spanish and bilingually, and weekday Masses are offered in Spanish, making it a spiritual home for Catholics from Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico, and beyond.

About Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish
Our Lady of Guadalupe describes itself as 'a Catholic Community who is seeking to encounter Christ, deepen our relationship with Him, and share with others what we have received.' The parish was founded in 1996 as a personal parish for the Hispanic Catholic community of Sioux Falls and is part of the Diocese of Sioux Falls. Today it worships in Spanish and bilingually, and reaches out across the region as a spiritual home for Spanish-speaking Catholics.

Parish History
The parish was dedicated in 1996 to serve the growing Hispanic Catholic population of eastern Sioux Falls. In the mid-2010s the parish nearly closed because of declining membership and tight finances; the community came together to keep its doors open. In 2018 a fire damaged the property, but the parish continued its ministries. The parish marked its 25th anniversary in 2021 with a celebration reflecting on a quarter-century of bilingual Catholic life.

Faith Formation & Religious Education
The parish runs the 'Familia de Fe' (Family of Faith) religious-education program, which gathers children by age group and parents separately — with parents receiving a personalized lesson from Fr. Kristopher Cowles each month. Classes meet on the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30 PM in the parish gymnasium. Video lessons are available online to help families review the material at home.

RICA / RCIA — Becoming Catholic
Our Lady of Guadalupe offers the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RICA in Spanish) for those exploring the Catholic faith. The program is designed for the unbaptized, for those baptized in another Christian tradition, and for Catholics who were baptized but never received First Communion or Confirmation. Classes meet Tuesday evenings beginning with supper from 7:00 to 8:15 PM in the Parish Hall in the church basement, with new members welcomed at any time of year.
