Our Lady of Guadalupe Church is a Roman Catholic parish in Rosenberg, Texas, belonging to the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. Parish History
The Basilian Fathers arrived in Rosenberg at the invitation of Bishop Christopher Byrne and began celebrating Mass in 1936 in the Salón Zaragosa, a community-built dance hall that served as the social center of the local Hispanic community. The first church was completed in 1940 and expanded in 1954. Over the following decades Our Lady of Guadalupe served as the Basilian hub for Spanish-language ministry in the Diocese of Galveston-Houston, planting missions that grew into parishes across Fort Bend and Brazoria counties. By the 2010s the old buildings were no longer adequate, and under Father Lee Flores the parish built a new 13,000-square-foot Spanish Mission-style church, dedicated April 11, 2015.

Architecture & Campus
The 13,000-square-foot church was designed by Turner Duran Architects in a Spanish Mission / Spanish Colonial style to honor the parish's Hispanic heritage, as chosen by parishioners at a town hall meeting. Wood-stained ceilings, a cupola and dome on 7-foot girders spanning 100 feet, and traditional arches and details inspired by Spanish mission colonies distinguish the building.

The parish celebrates Mass every day of the week, with the great majority offered in Spanish to serve the surrounding Hispanic community. The current posted schedule is below; weekday Masses are paused seasonally (for example, no weekday Masses May 19 through June 30).

Faith Formation & Religious Education (CCE)
The parish's Catechetical Christian Education (CCE) program ministers to children and youth from Grade 1 through Grade 12. First Holy Communion and Confirmation are each two-year programs. Adult inquiry is handled through OCIA (RICA in Spanish) — interested adults are invited to call the parish office.

The parish's youth ministry, called Elemental, gathers junior-high and high-school students around the Eucharist and Confirmation. High School Confirmation classes meet on Sundays, beginning with the 9:00 AM Mass and continuing with class from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM.

San Jose Clinic (Parish Outreach)
Located on the parish campus at 1615 Avenue E, the San Jose Clinic provides free healthcare to uninsured residents of Rosenberg and the surrounding area. It grew out of a pop-up clinic the parish hosted during Hurricane Harvey, where volunteers saw more than 700 patients in less than a week, and today operates by appointment.

Sacraments
Information on the seven sacraments is available through the parish office. First Communion and Confirmation are two-year parish programs; the parish regularly celebrates the Anointing of the Sick and welcomes couples preparing for Marriage, as well as families seeking Baptism for their children.

Parishioners and visitors are welcome at the church and parish office in Rosenberg. The parish office is open Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, and closed Friday through Sunday.
