Why belong here
Our Lady of Guadalupe is the spiritual heart of Plainview's Spanish-speaking Catholic community, with five of its six weekend/weekday Masses celebrated in Spanish and one Sunday Mass in English, so newcomers can worship in the language of their heart. A staffed OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation) team, youth ministry, Whole Family Faith Formation (WFFF), and a robust Prison Ministry to the Formby/Wheeler Complex give parishioners concrete ways to grow in faith, raise their children Catholic, and serve those on the margins — all under the long-term pastoral care of Very Rev. George Poonely, who has served the Plainview deanery since 2020.
