The Patron: Our Lady of Guadalupe
The parish takes its name from Our Lady of Guadalupe, patroness of all Mexican Catholics and one of the most beloved Marian devotions in the Americas. The annual feast on December 12 commemorates the 1531 apparition of the Blessed Virgin Mary to St. Juan Diego on Tepeyac Hill near Mexico City, an event that became the spiritual heart of Catholic evangelization in Mexico and among Mexican and Mexican-American Catholics throughout the world.
